We made it! Just before noon today we crossed the Colorado border, and after about 1 1/2 hours of driving, we finally started to see mountains.
(Sad but true: the mountains do not simply jet out of of the ground the moment you cross into the state.)
Fourteen years ago, I donned my blue shorts, green tank top & tevas, and trekked east with my friend Jodi, and all my worldly belongings in a Jeep Cherokee. This time, I trekked west–donning blue shorts, t-shirt, and chocos; with my husband, and 1% of my worldly belongings in a Honda. (I never would have imagined utilizing a semi-to move across country!)
We arrived to our new home this afternoon, with all our stuff already in it (thanks family!).
So, we’re a little tired, very excited, and we have gobs of unpacking to do. But the excitement is the predominant feeling. Now let’s just see if N8 can make it the next 5 days . . . the cable company can’t come set us up until Wednesday.
